BIO

Rubab Zahra is a Contemporary Calligraphy and Abstract artist.

Rubab aims to conserve the Sacred Art of Arabic Calligraphy; hence her work consists of traditional Islamic Arabic art series and to connect it to the modern world she has developed contemporary versions of it. She has faith in the power of words, thus she tries to connect her abstract expressions with calligraphy strokes.

Rubab’s Abstract Artworks are mainly inspired by current events, social issues and cultures. In her Abstract Series, She has thrown light on the topics like ‘Inclusivity’, ‘Beauty in Diversity’, ‘Peace’, ‘Women Empowerment’ and ‘Family Empowerment’. Rubab prefers using monochromes and subtle colors in combination with metal foils to bring life to her paintings. She works with a wide variety of media like acrylic paints, inks and metal leaves etc. She uses brushes, palette knives and many unconventional tools to create texture, layers and depth in her artworks.


In a fairly short period of time, Rubab has accomplished considerably well as a self-taught & self-representing artist. She recently completed her specialization in “Modern and Contemporary Art and Design from Museum of Modern Art, New York, USA.”

Her paintings have been exhibited in

  • Carrousel du Louvre, Paris,
  • Moscow State Museum, Russia,
  • Washington DC, USA
  • Georgia and Mauritius International Art Fair. 
  • Her painting “Peace in our Hands” is selected to be in the permanent collection of “Haegeumgang Theme Museum, South Korea”

  • She has been selected as Ambassador Pakistan for Art Connects Women, 2022 and received an Award.

  • Rubab is part of the Caffeine And Women Movement, the NFT Project and is one of the Pioneer Artists.

She has sold her artworks and beautified multiple spaces worldwide. 


She has done 2 Solo Art Shows at Pullman, JLT, Dubai, UAE, in 2019 and 2021 and Exhibited her artworks in Novotel, Dubai,


The canvas Hotel Dubai, IRC Gallery, Sharjah and PAD, Dubai. Furthermore, She organizes and conducts Art workshops regularly at different venues; Notably Sikka 2023,Dubai Expo 2020, World Art Dubai, Ame artistic studio Alserkal Avenue and Pakistan Association Dubai.
